Ambassador Michael Lawson (Ret.) serves as an Advisor to BCRE IMPACT, leveraging a distinguished career across public service, international corporate law, and civic leadership. He currently serves as President and CEO of the Los Angeles Urban League, a position he assumed in 2018.Appointed by President Barack Obama, Mr. Lawson represented the United States as an Ambassador following a 31-year career as a partner at the international law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. His extensive public and community service includes serving as President of the Los Angeles Airport Commission, Commission Chair, and a trustee for Morehouse College, Loyola Marymount University, and the Constitutional Rights Foundation. He holds degrees from Loyola Marymount University and Harvard Law School.
